Getting Started
Start here if you're new to HRI-MobiSim. These pages show you how to install the project, find your way around the Editor and its folders, and try the playable demo. They also explain the terms, tags, and layers used throughout this manual, and a few tools used across the project. If you're new to Unity as well, its official manual is a good companion.
Installing the Simulator
Step-by-step guide to downloading the project, installing Unity Hub and the correct Unity version, and opening the project for the first time.
Editor Interface
Overview of the Unity Editor layout — Hierarchy, Scene view, Inspector, and Project window — plus how to navigate the Scene and use Play mode.
Project Structure
A guided tour of every folder in the HRI-MobiSim Unity project — what each directory contains, what systems live there, and when you would need to open it.
Playable Demo
Explore the scenes behind the playable demo and learn how their objects, events, and scene graph are connected.
Terminology
Reference for the most commonly used terms and concepts when working with the simulator.
Tags and Layers
How Unity layers and tags are used in the simulator, including the project's custom scripting tag system for identifying and filtering GameObjects.
Scriptable Variables
Create and use Scriptable Variables, variable references, and mean variables to share values across scenes and systems.
CSV Curve Mapper
The CSV Curve Mapper is a custom Unity Editor tool that converts a CSV file into one or more ScriptableObject assets (AnimationCurveScriptableObject) containing AnimationCurve data. This is useful for importing time-series or numeric data directly into reusable Unity curves without manually entering keyframes.
